Not really, but saw this cartoon and wondered if pony is to horse what veal is to beef?
Anyone ever ponied up for a horse steak when traveling abroad?

I've never had it, but I would try it if I saw it on a menu.
It used to be eaten here in large quantity, especially during the depression. It's popularity has waxed and waned in America over the years.
Here is an interesting article about it. When Americans Ate Horse Meat

Do you know what part of the horse it came from? What are the various cuts of Mr. Ed that are most delicious, juicy and tender?

Had it in Iceland. Didn't care for it, although it was slathered in some blueberry sauce that may have ruined it.

Well, my friend Jay Reimenschneider eats horse all the time. He gets it from his butcher.

I ate a lot of horse and camel meat when I was living in Mongolia. The horse was sliced thin with carrots and onions, and a grandma would sell it in a clear plastic bag for $2.50. It was pretty good; I bought it several times. Sometimes I'd take it home and mix in a familiar sauce and sautee everything again for a few minutes.

I´ve eaten potro (colt) in Spain, many a time.
It´s good.
ETA Steak cut, and grilled. I´ve never had any other cut.

Think I had it in France in the early 90's. Ate a 9 course lunch on a rural farm Outside of Rheims. Could not say for sure what it was. Wasn't lamb, but tasted similar. Old folks that cooked it wouldn't say what it was, just "meat". It was good, so if it was Mr Ed, I approve.

Jody, I posted pics of your recipe I tried. See it on page 2 or 3. Someone for whatever reason called for my thread to be anchored. Who is in charge of this board? I don't understand the anchor?

hubba bubba won't mind me using his thread to talk to Jody. I replied back to you. I am still shaking my head at why the thread was anchored. Is this a picky arse board with tattle tales or does the person that runs it need checked for power that is so unkind and arrogant?
