Would love to, but that sounds like a logistics nightmare.

Anyone know of a place to get a co2 tank refilled in Slidell?

I don't. Which sucks because I'm further away from LA Fire extinguisher now and wish I knew where some more places were.

Frat - is he still wanting $350 for the whole setup? kegs, lines, tank, regulator, etc.?

I'm slightly tempted to get in on this. Where is he?

I just called Industrial Welding Supply on Highway 11. They are open until 5. I will report back.

The welding places near me will exchange tanks, but not fill them. I got it filled at a dive shop.

Took some samples tonight. Same beer. Different yeast. 100% Pilsner and Lemondrop hops. Left is Conan. Right is YB lochristi. The conan is tasting better. The lochristi's perceived bitterness is much higher than the Conan beer. The Conan is ready to keg. Lochristi is going to need some time.

The yeast influence on color is pretty cool. Is the YB lochristi a blend with Brett? Brett can really increase perceived bitterness.

Yeah, it's a Brett blend. Hoping the bitterness dies down just a touch. Still a lot of hop particles floating around as fermentation is still finishing up.

Update: Industrial Welding Supply in Slidell won't fill any tank smaller than 5 gallons.

I'm trying Airgas later.

If all else fails, I'll hit up Brewstock, Triple Hopped, or send it with my friend to the Academy in Hammond (Slidell wouldn't do it.)

The fire extinguisher place on Magazine refills tanks. They're pricey, though, and old boy that works the warehouse is a stickler about having the cap on the tank threads before walking in the door. It's like $25, if I remember correctly. I used to get it filled in BR for maybe 1/3 of that.

Was JUST listening to the Chad Yakobson episode of the sour hour and neither him or the host from the rare barrel suggested topping off barrels due to acetobacter concerns.

listened to that episode yesterday (along with 3 others)
Wish I had not, I'm ready to dump brett in all my beer now

Calculated IBUs are low 40's and ABV is currently at 6.6%. Perceived bitterness probably feels double that IBU number. The sacch version is perfectly bitter. I did not have this problem on my last brett IPA that used the CS Hop Savant brett and had similar IBU:ABV ratio.

Thinking about starting my next batch next week. The girlfriend wants a fruit wheat beer, and I'm thinking about a pineapple/mango wheat. Any suggestions on the mash/malt profile?
