Anybody going to this? 300 dollars a ticket is steep but the menu and chefs are pretty incredible. Also the drinks are being mixed from the "sock-head" mixologist from cure. Would link it but I'm on my phone

Sounds like a good time, but I don't understand why they would throw a massive event the night before an all day BBQ. So you are suppose to spend $300, eat and drink like some fricking Trojan then rally Saturday to do it again.

Not sure about that idea.

Hope you're a real Doc(Cardiologist) you may be busy if people are going to both events.

Anyone just going Friday night for the "tailgate" part but not the gala? I am wondering if you will be able to buy food from the contestants.

Want to go to the Gala but $300 just seems too much for one person. I would do it if it was $300 for 2.

They are probably looking at two different crowds. Trust me, they will not be hurting for attendance on Saturday.

Might be thinking that more high rollers that would pass on the Saturday thing or if someone has schedule problems with Saturday might make Friday night.

I don't see what the problem is. It's not going to hurt them in anyway.

Besides the guy who runs this thing posted in a thread last week for people to email him and he would hook them up with some discounts for Friday night.

I know that, it's a great event that has really grown in the last few years.

True, I just find the idea of BBQ and gala incongruent. I don't care what kind of $$ I had, I wouldn't be interested in $300/ head or even at the discounted price for BBQ. Roasted meats with chimichurri could get a little tired after a few tries.

I understand it's a good cause, and I hope they make a bunch of $, it's just an odd idea IMHO.

Didn't say a problem exists, they may draw a larger crowd if they could spread it out over 2 weekends at a slightly reduced price. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I kind of agree. The price is going to push some away. This is the first year for the Friday night thing, so I'm sure they will have some changes for next year.
