Grilled salad at Bonefish last night had grilled bread, tomatoes, avocado, and romaine. Very good.

My dad makes a really good grilled romaine with blue cheese and chopped bacon. Not sure what else he does but it has a sweet hint to it. One of the best homemade things I've eaten in a while

The woman and I had it yesterday. Delicious.
Used a sauce which was visually faintly reminiscent of romescu (for calçots).
I´m thinking the whole grilled romaine lettuce movement is an American invention (from having learned about bok choy and calçots, and mixing the two concepts). Amirite?

My wife did so a few weeks ago. With blue cheese and balsamic, as opposed to a Caesar riff. It was awesome. We had it as a side with a steak.

I've found that romaine only grills properly on a Big Green Egg at 800+ degrees, lower temps will not get the proper sear.
