The tea was meh. I like sweet tea. Like actual sweet tea. Not semi sweet tea. 2 cups to the gallon sweet. This was 1-1 1/2 it seemed.

That's just gross. I can't even imagine.

I know, right?!?! Who only puts 1 cup of sugar per gallon in their sweet tea?

No sugar in tea for me. I absolutely hate the term unsweetened, but I'm forced to use it because yes, in the south of you order tea it's coming sweetened.

Also have trouble getting black iced coffee, I have to physically tell them don't squirt the sugar in there. They don't understand that some people actually like the flavor of the drink they ordered.

Going to wait until the hype slows down on Freddy's. Drive thru is almost into the street and inside is a frickin madhouse right now

I ate at Cowboy Chicken a few weeks ago and it wasn't good enough for me to return.

I got the 3-piece dark with two sides. Two tiny drumsticks and one tiny thigh accompanied a sweet potato and green beans. Veggies were fine. Hard to screw those up. The chicken was good but very small pieces and just starting to be overdone. Texture wasn't great from it sitting under a heat lamp probably.

Person I was with got the white meat meal with sweet potato and the tomato and cucumber salad. The salad was probably the best thing we ate. Really good and fresh.

Prices are reasonable, and I realize you pay more for convenience, but you can guy an entire chicken, two sweet potatoes, and green beans for around $10. Our meal cost around $25 after drinks and tip.

I like that they offer a low-carb/paleo lunch option, but I don't see myself going there again.

Been to Cowboy Chicken twice so far. 1st trip I had the BBQ chicken sandwich which reminded me of the consistency of a Manwich with small chunks of chicken and a ton of sauce. Flavor was good but was really difficult to handle so it ended up being a fork & knife sandwich. 2nd trip I got the ½ chicken. Wing was dried/burnt like a grocery store rotisserie bird and the breast was overcooked and “mealy”. Dark meat was tasty and skin had the right amount of crispness.

As for sides, I had the twice baked “potatoers” that are somewhere between a hashbrown casserole and loaded mashed potatoes. Tasted ok I suppose but the texture is just weird. Also tried the cucumber and tomato salad which seemed to have a good bit of cumin in it which I wasn't expecting and didn't care for.

If a coworker wanted to go there for lunch I’d join but wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. Hopefully they’ll expand their menu at some point and include the tacos like the other locations.

As for Freddy’s, been once and thought it was really good. Not enough to unseat Whataburger as my favorite “drive-thru” burger joint but will definitely go back. Mustard based, flat top smashed patties, cheese melted between patties and shoestring fries……….yes please. The patties are thin so get that double!

Has the Freddy's in Baton Rouge died down yet, at all? How about the drive thru during lunch?

And what is the best sauce or condiment?

Riverside Patty is right around the corner from Freddy's and Mooyah. It's legit, grungy and everything is from scratch.

never knew freddys was that legit. we have them all over DFW and ive never thought twice to stop at one because its always empty

guess ill have to try but im not a fan of a thin arse patty. im a grown man, give me a half lb burger

call me old school, but i still think fuddruckers makes an underrated burger. i love being able to build it as id like with the condiment bar and the homemade buns are legit.

I enjoyed Freddies. Definitely not your average fast food burger and costs the same as a burger king or mcdonland's
Cowboy Chicken on the other hand got the only $10 they will ever get from this guy. I got the 2 piece dark meal with okra and a side salad. The best part of the meal was the salad and it wasn't anything to talk about. Dark meat chicken was dry as frick and had no smoke flavor. Okra was edible but nothing special, kinda seemed like the frozen fried okra you can get in the grocery store.

Freddy's burger taste good, but yeah I coulda eaten two doubles. But the ice cream is the star of the show. I got the vanilla malt thing with hot caramel in it. Drive thru had good service too.

Creamed spinach was the best thing I had at Cowboy chicken. That pretty much says it all.

As for Freddy's -- Hawaiian concrete, no coconut, add banana = $$$

there is nothing on that plate that is "from scratch"...
pre-cut frozen fries, processed pre-breaded & frozen protein like product, generic store bought bun

i guess the lettuce might be fresh

I'd definitely eat that burger you depicted. Looks pretty tasty, actually.

Tried Freddy's this weekend. The California Style double steakburger was indeed a tasty burger. However, The drivethru had me longing for Popeyes-level quickness. At least they compensated me with a ticket for a free custard.
