I always used to see cars at the one in Kenner. It was stupefying. That food can't be good.

Probably that guy that said Joes Crab Shack had the best oysters he's ever eaten.

No, but I want to. Want to see what all the hype is about.

Nope... Never been to Joe's Crab Shack or red lobster either

Once. Never again. Greasy, flavorless. Have a neighbor who goes there when hung over to get the crumbs. She goes through the drive thru and orders crumbs, that's it

I've eaten there a few times while I've been in the Midwest, never in Louisiana.
I like the hush-puppies and fries.
The fried shrimp is...fried shrimp. Nothing great, but still eatable if you adjust your expectations. Same with the fish.

I have. You just need to respect it for what it is.
It is seafood like Taco Bell is Mexican.
Meaning it isn't really seafood but sometimes when you want a greasy fried fast food fix it hits the spot.

I have an odd affinity for British 'fish n chips' style fish. It's not the easiest thing to find around here and it's an awful mess to make. Therefore, I will hit it up occasionally. It's not horrible if you like that. I would admit, it's far from even an exemplary version of it, but I guess it satisfies in a pinch.
Capt'n D's is better, though. Last time I hit one of those was passing through Alexandria.

This. If I go to London, I'm having Fish and Chips. If that upsets my traveling companions, Tough Luck.
I have purchased it at Heathrow at 3:00 in the morning.
Long John Silvers is a lot like F&C to me.
Just like Taco Bell IMO

One time during lent I pulled in the drive through but ended up driving off without ordering because it looked disgusting.

Tried it once in college in VA because friends liked to go there and few options in the little town. Pretty disgusting, especially the little fried batter droppings they sell from the bottom of the fryer. After that if friends wanted to go I would go with them but refused to eat.

It's like anywhere else with the exception of McDonalds and Chik-Fil-A who are remarkably consistent. It depends on how well the store is run. The concept was obviously good or else it wouldn't be a national chain.
For folks that live a long way from the sea, in mid-to-small size towns, LJS may be the only source for restaurant "seafood". The one by me isn't terrible as a twice a year kinda place. It goes through me like butter though, with all the oil/grease.

My meal there is diet A&W Rootbeer with unlimted refills and three fish tacos.
The batter crumbs are nice too.
Sometimes an A&W Burger, which takes me back to 1960s college days travels through Carthage Mississippi, stopping at A&W there. (Otis2 knows where this place is/was)

I grew up in the Northeast and loved LJS. Used to get the fish, chicken, clam strips, and ask for extra "crunchies" in the box.
Since moving to South Louisiana, I've learned the error of my ways. Still, the fish sandwiches I grew up eating in Pittsburgh and Wheeling trump any fish sandwich I've ever eaten down here.
