Nothing beats a hot new hard taco.

But for street tacos I typically like soft.

Buying the wrong ones.

ETA: Several of the Rouse's down here sell some homemade fresh corn tortillas. They don't stay fresh long, but they're great.

that is normally the issue

a bad flour tortilla > a bad corn tortilla

but a good corn tortilla > a good flour tortilla

the problem is that good corn tortillas are hard to find sometimes

and the answer to the OP is always soft tacos...I hate hard taco shells

I like to mix them up for texture purposes. Like 2 hard tacos and 1 soft taco. If I were forced to choose, it would be hard tacos, with the flat bottoms so you can stand them up.

I can def. eat more hard tacos than soft.

And I like a basic taco...seasoned ground beef with the drippings, shredded cheddar and sour cream. Tons of sour cream.

Good to know.

I needed corn for an enchilada recipe once, and got some cheap ones from La Morenita. Assumed they'd be good because the packaging was written in Spanish I opened the bag and they smelled like feet, and I had to go to Mathernes and grab another brand.

I love them both. I grew up eating hard shell "white people tacos", and then discovered soft corn tortilla "mexican people tacos" as a teenager.

Soft corn tortilla tacos and beer sitting in a cantina somewhere are hard to beat. Any meat will do except chicken.

This is what a taco should look like, with varying proteins.
