Gulfport Food
Posted by LSU999 on 8/3/17 at 7:59 pm00
I`ll be in Gulfport toward the end of the month. Does anybody have some good recs on some good food?
I`ll be checking out Beau Rivage`s Buffet for the variety, since i`ve never eaten there and we`re staying there.
Any other non buffet suggestions?

I would only eat the Beau buffet if it's free unless you want to be a glutton. Nothing special at all.

Chimneys is like the Mary Mahoneys of Gulfport
Felix on the beach is much more casual
Captain als is a complete hole in the wall, but tremendous flavored steak and shrimp
Darwells has been featured on the food network but I think it's technically in Long Beach.
Lots more recs in biloxi and OS if interested

Irish Coast Pub is great.
Port City Cafe is another good one.
Agave for Mexican. Thai Lotus (self explanatory).
All of that is on, or just off of, Highway 49.

Just an fyi: Beau Rivage is in Biloxi not Gulfport. I like The Reef and Wentzel's which are both on Hwy 90 not far from the Beau. Both are casual.
Try the Eggplant Orleans at Wentzel's. It is delicious!
Haven't been to the buffet at the Beau in years because it was terrible. If you really want a buffet, the one at Palace Casino Resort is good but not great.

Thanks for the responses. I'll have to check a couple of those places out.
I asked Gulfport, because I wasn't dead set on eating just around the Casino. And honestly I wasn't sure at what point Biloxi/ Gulfport end or begin. Going to check out a Shuckers game. We went to a couple games last year and had a pretty good time.

There's a place called Steamers near the Island View. FANTASTIC salad that comes with some of the meals. Frequently have deals on steamed royal red shrimp that's pretty damn tasty.
I totally forgot about this place! Thanks for jarring my memory.
We ate there for my birthday last month and thoroughly enjoyed it. The salad was great and I had the shrimp 3 ways and it was great.
Next time I will probably just order the Royal Reds. They were so tasty and so easy to peel.

White Cap on 90 overlooking the beach is great for oysters of any kind. Good local food by locals, Lizana family.. Nice bar also.

The boundary is just off DeBuys Road.
