Need some recs. I've seen similar threads, but would like some current thinking on this. Trade show in New Orleans, next week, for the premium cigar and pipe retailers, and a friend wants to take his group of tobacconists from Hawaii for a meal.

They want something "local" so I'm thinking either Palace Café or G. W. Fins, would be up their alley. I don't want to price them out, though. What else y'all got?

I don't know if you want a private room or anything, but Sobou is solid for a group around that size and you can do their pool room in the back. It opens up to the pool in the back and you can have drinks outside before you sit down for the meal. I've done stuff there and it has always turned out great. They will probably do a pre fixe menu though.

Email Bianca.Yeager@whotels.com if you are interested and she can help you out.

You might consider calling Bon Ton if the dinner might be held on a week night. If it's early enough, they ma The menu is a good representation of Louisiana foods and some traditional old New Orleans dishes. It's not eclectic to us, but crawfish dishes can be somewhat eclectic to out of state folks. Don't know if that's the type of food they're looking for when you say "local", but it's pretty Louisiana and Nola local.

I think Emeril's has a wine room that would accommodate your group. I don't know whether there's a charge or minimum order associated with it. R'evolution might also be able to accommodate. You can look at all of those menus to determine whether those places fit the request.
