Been wanting to try and do oysters on the grill. I see a few good looking recipes, but wondering if anybody has a recipe they have tried and liked. I would love to try it myself. Thanks in advance.

Butter, garlic, wischire, parm cheese, bacon, japs or just whatever you like. It's pretty simple.

For some. I make them different ways. Sometimes I'll crush ritz crackers and sprinkle on them

wing sauce is great on them (butter and hot sauce)
white wine, butter, garlic, cheese if you want
cheddar and japs
italian dressing and white cheese (parm or mozzarella)
The key is to not over cook them, you don't want all the juice drying up.

The recipe is simple. It is basically garlic butter with parmesan cheese. The trick is getting the grill hot enough. I tried it a few times and concluded it is much easier just to go to Drago's.

The key to Dragos as Fitzmorris says and if you watch them heap the butter on is to get enough so they overflow and flame the charcoal. Gives them great flavor. Dragos uses a big kitchen spoon on each oyster.
And fresh French bread.

All the recipes are good. Two things to remember, get your grill screaming hot. I threw two chimneys full of coals to get started, then added more throughout the cook. Also, you want to have a bunch of melted butter to ladle over the oysters. This gets the flames going. Just putting a dollop of a butter/cheese mix isn't enough, you need the flames to get the char. And don't cook them too long.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'll try some of these recipes and get the grill as hot as I can.

My neighbor worked at Dragos in the kitchen. He claims Dragos put Demi-Glas in their butter mixture. I don't know if it's true or not but when he grills them he has demi-glas in his mixture and his grilled oysters are great.

Interesting. So Drago's puts that on their grilled oysters?
