I don't have one but I have a few friends that do. All I know is that they cook everything to perfection.

I've had mine for a little over a year. After what I read and heard about them, I was expecting the best outdoor cooking appliance ever. Not all that great IMO.

I enjoy mine.. especially like a Thanksgiving turkey brined and smoked with pecan. Pork butts and shoulders are great...don't do any steaks on it//

Get a primo XL in stead. It's a bit cheaper, made in USA, made better, better warranty, larger cook area, more accessories.
I've had one for two years and like it more every day.

The primo is good but I wouldn't say better quality and warranty.

The Primo Oval shape is a more efficient use of grillspace compared to the BGE, but has a comparatively primitive top vent.

Grilldome edges out all the competitors because of its stainless steel hardware.

I agree that it is the best all-in-one.

For grilling, I probably use my egg once for every 20 times I use my gas grill. I like the convenience of the gas grill.

The flavor on my offset smoker is just as good as what I turn out on the egg, and much more room when cooking for a group.

The egg holds temp much longer without adding wood/coals, and is more set it and forget it.

I've got one and like it a lot.

It's not for everyone though. Compared to gas and a simple charcoal grill, there's more to learn about lighting a proper fire for the type cooking, temperature control, cooking methods ( direct, indirect, real slow, real hot).

The new owner will need to enjoy learning how to use the bge.

There is allot to Learn, I agree, but the BGE is way more forgiving than a regular charcoal grill,... its hard to mess up meat on it IMO.

Just DON'T open without burping when temps are >500!! I've cooked my self a couple times when I was hammered.

Kamado cookers kick arse! BGE, Primo, and Kamado Joe all great. I checked into each one before I bought. All really good, and the food that comes off in phenomenal. I did some steaks they other night seared em at 650, but have done an 8 hr. Pork but at 225 without adding any charcoal. Very versatile. Highly recommend one if you have the means...

The wife bought me one for Christmas. As far as a smoker goes, you can't beat it. It requires a littler practice as a grill but worth the learning curve. I still use he gas grill some but haven't fired up my charcoal grill since getting the BGE.

Get a mapp gas torch to light your grill. Light a few spots. With this technique I can get my primo grill hot as fast as my old gas grill. I gave my gas grill away a few months after getting the primo.
