Heading to Gouter tonight for the first time. Searched and saw an earlier thread, and I definitely need an order of the Wild Boar PB&J and I'll probably stay away from Rabbit Ravioli.

Anything recommended to order and recommended to stay away from?

The BYOP - the backstrap plate with a broth and noodles. Sounds strange, but its a good dish with a kind of Asian twist.

That does sound good. I'll definitely give it a go. Thanks!

We ate there on Wednesday for the first time, ordered the small meat board, the mac-n-cheese the scallops and the black and blue. I though the meat board was ok but not great, enjoyed the mach-n-cheese. The scallops my wife loved I thought they were decent. The beer in the black and blue was pretty good.

Here are the 5 I ended up getting. Sorry for the lack of pictures.

First, the Arch Nemisis.
- These bad boys were my favorite thing served on the night. Essentially a duck empanada. 4 on the plate -- I could have eaten them all. If I ever find myself back at Gouter, these will be ordered.

Second, the BYOP
- Got this from a rec here on the board. I thought it was very good. It was light, which was nice because the next few were pretty heavy. The broth and backstrap were both very, very good.

Third, the Crab Pizza. Would not order again. Thought it was alright, but the portion was huge and it really filled us up. And we had two more plates coming.

Fourth, the Black and Blue. Meat cooked very nicely. I'm not a huge blue cheese fan to begin with, but i liked the dish. Probably the smallest portion of the night. Would not order again because I would rather order other dishes. But I did find it good.

Finally, we oreded one of their specials of the day. It was an acorn squash stuffed with ground pork. By the time this got to me, I was so full I could only take a couple of bites. I thought it was good, but would not order it again. The squash was very heavy and I don't think they had enough pork in the stuffing.

Thanks again for the recs!
