Ubiquitous curse word connoisseur Gordon Ramsay is planning to open six more restaurants in America, including venues in New Orleans and Baltimore, where he currently has no footprint.

Although Ramsay’s camp has not released any specifics about the Baltimore or New Orleans projects, the Financial Times points out that his group operates four hit venues in Las Vegas and Atlantic City casino/resorts, so these new restaurants will likely be casual establishments along the lines of Gordon Ramsay BurGR or Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill, and they might also be connected to gaming hubs. One of the shouty chef’s new Vegas projects is a restaurant inspired by his long-running Fox show Hell’s Kitchen.

So he's planning 6 new US restaurants, with New Orleans getting one of the 6. No one knows any details yet, but speculation is that it will be one of his casual, affordable venues.

Has this ever succeeded in New Orleans (the absentee out of town celebrity chef joint)? Anyone remember Todd English's place here that bombed pretty quickly? Anyone eat there (I didn't)? Have there been any others?

Yeah I agree. But a chain that is connected to the casino or something and is on the cheaper end could make it I guess.

I actually wasn't saying I didn't think it would be successful (I'm not saying it will - I guess I'm on the fence), just curious about the precedence of it.

Yes, but nothing fell faster or harder than Model Café in NOLA.

I like GR, so I hope we don't see a re-invention of classic Louisiana dishes.

I like him too and I've really enjoyed the meals I've had at his restaurants. I think he expanded too quickly and took his eye off the ball. No idea if he's gotten his shite together.

Well at least the violence in the streets will be matched by the violence in the kitchen.

Not sure. They def had the area blocked off and some construction started a few years back. I'm sure it would have sucked, so no real loss.
