Good Restaurants in Stowe VT

What you have to realize about Vermont is that locals are used to driving 10, 15, even 20 miles to get to different restaurants, etc. Towns are relatively close to one another and Vermont is well-known for its cheese, beer, and farm-to-table restaurants.

I've gotten to know the area quite well as my parents have lived in the Burlington area for several years. I'm able to get to Stowe a couple times each year.

(1) Alchemist: They opened their new brewery in June.

(2) Cork: They have two locations, one in Waterbury and one in Stowe. Vermont is well-known for its cheese and you can get some great meat & cheese plates with an extensive wine menu.

(3) Michael's on the Hill: A farm-to-table restaurant, which I have become very familiar with having lived in both Wisconsin and Vermont. Beautiful setting and a terrific menu. I highly-recommend eating here. It isn't too far outside of Stowe as you approach Waterbury

(4) Hen of the Wood: Located in Waterbury and a well-known restaurant in New England. It is along Graves Brook and a great spot to eat outdoors during the summer. It is another farm-to-table restaurant.

(5) If you don't mind driving 20 miles (sounds ridiculous, but not so much in Vermont), I'd recommend Sonoma Station or Kitchen Table in Richmond.

I should have placed an asterisk (*) along that one... I figured I would just point it out since he is going to be in Stowe, anyway.
