Palmetto's is solid (duck is really good if theyhave it). SOGO for sushi. Southside is a good bar/grill. Not too many good Chinese options. What kind of food you looking for?

Go get a Lee Burger. It is right next to skaters paradise

they are my all time favorite hamburger.

or Osakas for good sushi/jap food.

Saigon Pho is pretty darn good. I travel over there for it.

I hear from this board there's a good Cuban place over there, the Que Rico place has real good rating on Urban Spoon so maybe that's it.

As a Slidell resident for about 30 years I can probably help you out.

Best restaurants are:

Palmettos
Nathans
Michaels

Best Chinese is South Seas, the sushi there isn't bad but not as good as what you get in Nola or BR.

We lack good Mexican and bbq imho. Lees does have a good hamgurger, it is the original Lees too not the franchise like in Covington. Did you have a type of food in mind?

Also there is a crawfish cookoff tomorrow and the LPO is peforming tomorrow night in Slidell if your in to that kind of thing.

not really, just somewhere to grab a good bite to eat tonight. Isn't Nathan's expensive?

yes it is. Southside, KY's is probably what you are looking for. Southside is about $12 pp and KY's is about $10 pp

Good list. I would recommend Michael's over Nathan's

Thailicious for Thai food.

Tacos & Beer is pretty good Mexican and Papas Backyard BBQ is really good. Papa's only does take out though.

yes it is, as is michaels and palmettos, but they are all very good. We have the usual chains as well but if you want just good local food without hitting the pocket book too hard I would say Southside, South Seas, Lees, Camellia Café, or Phil's Marina Cafe. Your coming just a little too soon to check out the new Hooters, lol.

My apologies I didn't mean in that order, those are just my top 3. I agree with your sentiment btw.

I haven't been there yet, is it on par with Casa Garcia and Ninfas?

I figured as much, I was just putting in my vote for Michael's. I really like that place and do not go enough.

Sorry about having to be in Slidell...but for food, I suggest Bear's Grill. Po'Boys are pretty good there and big. Especially the Ferdie

For casual... Southside hands down. Always my go to when I lived in the Dell.

Luckily, I am now a West St. Tammany resident. No offense to Southside though.
