Quit your job and upgrade your internet, as Alton Brown has made it official that he is bringing a renamed and updated Good Eats to the Interwebs:

Yeah, it's Facebook, but it's also one hour of pure Alton-isms.

This good. I learned a lot of crap about cooking from that show.

He ran out of interesting topics to cover by the end of 1.0.

He could certainly stand to completely re-do some of those episodes though. Crawfish boils and turkey fry and homebrewing were cringeworthy.

Someone from Louisiana crying about how someone from Georgia did a crawfish boil. That's shocking.

Nothing all that bad in hindsight, he just looked like a major goofball

I just looked up his recipe it isn't anything terrible. I just vaguely remember watching it and him doing some odd things

He did another one, maybe gumbo, that gave me the same reaction.

His beer brewing episode is laughably terrible.

Why? Because he made his roux in an oven?

Alton's show isn't always about making the quintessential, authentic dish. It's sometimes about finding ways to cook something using more scientific methods or with crap around the house.

I mean, are we going to criticize him for how he smokes pork and brisket? Ain't see nobody smoking pork or brisket in a flower pot round these parts. Alton must be a questionable chef.

Given he literally went nuts and contemplated suicide during the first version, I hope he has dealt with his issues.

He's a Howard Hughes.

Yea just watched it and it didnt seem terrible. Just looks like a cut corners type of boil, which could also be because he only boiled 10lbs.

I do like his shows because of the educational aspect of it

It was the handling of the crawfish and the way he peeled them that was pretty odd.

i watched a 4 to 5 minute video on the food network site. probably why it looked like he cut corners to me. i didnt have to watch him butcher the crawfish while trying to eat them

He shows you how to do the very basics of numerous aspects of cooking. It's no surprise that any episode he does where you have an interest will seem basic.

No, because he said: "Now, no good gumbo is complete without a hearty sausage. Traditionally, of course, a Cajun sausage would be used. Some folks like a boudin, which is a sausage stuffed with seasoned pork and rice."

He did go on to say that he was a purist "and that means andouille." But the boudin in gumbo remark was like the 13th chime of a clock. It makes you question the accuracy of everything that came before it.

That clunker aside, I liked his show and even have one of his books.

Just watch Cooking Channel and see his reruns along with Chopped Canada.

Yeah that channel is starting to suck too.
