Have you ever tried Green Flash? Firestone Walker? Those are some good breweries that distribute where I live. Green Flash has some top notch IPA's.

Ive been offered some

Yellow Rose
Pelican Mother of All Storms 2015
Jester King
Dogfish Head 60 & 90

One fella says he can get his hands on Great Lakes Brewery (they have a good Christmas brew, no?) and Fat Head Brews.

Can we get Cigar City Brewery or Bourbon Count products in Baton Rouge?

Definately would like some of the hot NE IPA's myself, but have a friend in Baltimore that thinks he can get several I would like to try.... Without having to trade me Ghost.

I'd be most interested in the Jester King, but be aware a lot of their stuff is gonna be funky and/or sour.

Yellow Rose is good, but you could get that pretty easily from some posters here. I really like the Pelican, it's a bourbon barrel aged barleywine. I dunno if that's your style. We don't get Cigar City. We do get Bourbon County, but that will have more or less dried up at this point aside from a few random finds.

Fat Head makes some solid hoppy beers and Great Lakes does good stuff as well.

Is ghost in the machine that good, really? I mean how much different does it taste from other high quality IPAs that do limited releases to keep demand high?

Is it Tree House/Trillium level good? No. Is it Heady level good? Not far off. Better than Pliny for my palate. So is it worth the demand, I guess that just depends on where you live. It's far and away the best beer of its type in the state and it sees limited distribution. Not because they want to keep demand high, but because hop contracts matter and brewing capacity matters.

So you figure it out.

You're going to find many differing opinions when comparing it to the big guys in the IPA world.

My take is Treehouse > SoS > GitM > Heady > Pliny

Haven't had any of Trillium's lineup yet. One of my recent trade partners told me he was blown away by the GitM I sent (11/12 bottles)--thought it hung there with Trillum's stuff.

From a tasting i did with my brother and a couple friends.

GITM>Pliny>Heady

GITM and Heady were very similar, but everyone gave Ghost the edge. Pliny got a nod over heady, but not sure if it was better, more than it had a different hop flavor.

Never had Treehouse. I hear Maine Beer Company Dinner and Lunch are fantastic. Had their porter and it was great.

Heard the same. Dinner is a once a year release but not sure when that is. Lunch is available regularly but I haven't been able to snag it on the trading forums--would love to try.

I have tried their pale ale (MO) and thought it was very good. Very balanced, not as hop-forward as baby Ghost or Pseudo.

I'm fortunate to have good friends that live in Massachusetts and Vermont, so my piplines are establish, but for me it would be--
Tree house (22, green, Julius, alter ego, lights on)
Trillium (congress st, sprang, launch, Fort pt)
GiTM
Heady
SOS
Pliny

all are world class no doubt, but for me it's the nose on the Tree house/Trillium beer's that edges out Ghost, but not by much. I have sent batches starting with #3 up all over the country and they always
reach out asking about the next batch.

As for trading like others have said BA is good along with r/trade
It's all about building relationships, I always send "extras" with my boxes, just something they can't get local or some glassware is nice too, it take a little time, but ghost is getting alot of love and deservedly so you might just have to sweeten the pot to get things started
but it's always nice to open those boxes!
