Any tips for getting into gin?
Ive mostly just been drinking it with grapefruit juice. So far, I've finished bottles of Tanqueray, Bombay and Bombay sapphire. Currently, I also have bottles of Plymouth, St. George, and Hendricks. I have tried gin and tonics and a couple martinis with dolin dry but have not really enjoyed either.

Buy her a few drinks and ask her back to your place. She'll say yes every time.

I love Gimlets. And you can make a Gimlet with the Rose's Sweetened Lime Juice when limes aren't in season.

Tom Collins is a nice drink too.

The gimlet is your friend.

I personally just like a good G&T.

The Negroni is another really popular gin cocktail currently.

Your problem is your adding vermouth to your martini. ...put the bottle of vermouth next to chilled martini glass.

British dry gin plus rocks in a shaker and stir for 30 seconds (never shake gin)...strain into that chilled martini glass and let the Dolin play voyeur. ...garnish with a twist or a very high quality green olive (stuffed only with a pimento if it must be stuffed)

Even as a Bourbon lover...that is the greatest cocktail there is.

My two favorite gins for this...cheap arse regular Bombay and Beefeater. At one time we had a dozen-15 gins in house...we currently have those two and Brooklyn gin for the more herbal cocktails.

Try Fever Tree tonic. I enjoy. Love a gin mule. Gin Bloody Mary is so much better than vodka.

Look into Old Tom gins.

The Fitzgerald is a simple classic gin cocktail. Also, shake up a Ramos Gin Fizz as a perfect Sunday morning hangover drink

1 oz of St. Germain
1/2 grapefruit freshly squeezed
1/2 orange freshly squeezed

Tanqueray is disgusting IMO.
Stick to Beefeater. As suggested stir it cold and into a martini glass. Throw in a line twist or an olive if you must. Only American women need to dirty a martini, and they usually drink vodka.

Absolutely.

Agree. You don't have to pay a lot for good gin, although Hendricks is good. Another one to try is Citadelle. Not expensive and very good.

Give Nolets gin a shot. It is very similar to Hendricks and fantastic in a martini.

Went to an old school steakhouse/speakeasy in Vegas a few months ago and had a Vesper martini....strong but very very good. If it's good enough for James Bond...

I've been trying to climb out of it for years. I'd make more money if I worked more than 3 hours a day.

Agree with citadelle.

Also throw the botanist into the mix. Love love that one.

I'm a fan of St Germain cocktail, French 75, slightly dirty martini.. And some of the more refreshing cocktails the fancy mixology places come up with.

I dislike tonic in itself, so no G&T for me.

I make some decent batches in the bathtub around Christmas. Bottle them with Pine nuts.
