I am heading down for the game Saturday with my dad and 10 year old son. We plan to visit the USS Kidd in the morning the grab a bite near there before hitting campus. Any lunch recommendations near The Kidd that we should try?
Thanks in advance!

I don't know if they're open on Saturdays, but if they are, try Harrington's.

There's really not that much good downtown. Pastime and Frost Top basically persist only due to nastalgia (although PAstime's calzones are legit). Poor Boy Lloyd's is just ok. Schlitz & Giggles is overpriced. None of the Main Street Market shops will be open.

Christina's is another good option, but it would be a little bit of a walk.

The Downtown restaurant scene on a Saturday afternoon isn't that great. (I lived downtown for years). Capital City Grill and Po-Boy Lloyds are just OK. Shoot, your best bet may be Cane's or Jimmy John's. Or go to the Spanish Town Grocery, they have pretty good hamburgers.

Thanks all.
Is Jolie Pearl any good and kid friendly?

Very good, but a little pricey.

Sure, as long as your kid likes oysters. Because that's the entire menu.

The new Magpie opens tomorrow and looks great but it wouldn't be my first choice to take a young boy after the Kidd.

With your 10 y/o son? Just hit up canes man. Plus he's gonna need some greasy foods to fight the alcohol

Yes, and they have a few sandwiches in addition to the oysters.

Farmer's market is on Saturday, but if you go to the Kidd first you'll probably miss it. If you want breakfast, that's a good option, or Christina's.

We hit up PBL's last year before a game. It was very average

Thanks eveyone. I saw Canes on the map, but last year it was way below average. It was after the WKU game, so maybe the were sick of cooking that late?

Honestly Pastime would be a cool place to take the little guy.

This is probably the best option. Football on the TVs and a blast from the past.

Yep. Pizza is available. He'd probably be happy.

Ate there last night. The boudin pizza is legit.
