Galveston food and drink suggestions needed

I'm going to visit a friend down that way in a few weeks.
Looking for suggestions on any good breweries or beer bars and maybe a few good local places to eat/drink. Nothing fancy (wouldn't want to be labeled a snob). Might lean toward a good seafood place as one meal for sure.

Galveston Island Brewing actually makes some pretty kick arse beers, especially their IPA lineup.

Brews Brothers and Beerfoot for beer. Brews Brothers also happens to have the best burger on the island.
When I get on my computer, I'll add some more places to eat and drink

Agree.
I think they are $3 on Tuesdays at Beerfoot also. I think it's all Texas beers

I don't have much expoerience, but enjoyed Tratoria La Vigna. It was best of a bunch of "meh" meals so not even a place Id say is a must. However, the brunch buffet at Hotel Galvez is among the best I've ever had. Don't need to dress up but the hotel itself is fancy.
La Kings is an old school candy and ice cream place, if you're into that sort of thing.
The Spot is a collection of bars location. One big building and instead of one bar they have liked five different themed bars. Drinks are nothing special but the rooftop bar across from Gulf is nice.

Agree 100%
Brews brothers is a hole in the wall with a great tap list. My kind of place.

Sonny's Bar on 19th St. for bar food and family atmosphere. Ask to see the bullet hole in the bar from a robbery long ago. A college hang out for UTMB med school. Second or third generation family owned and operated.
Mario's on the seawall for pizza

This.
Except for Beerfoot. How long has that been there? Sounds right up my alley.

Agree on Michael Burger and The Spot.
Treemont Hotel rooftop and lobby bar are both cool. I love the Treemont though.
Jimmys on the pier is cool also. Decent food and drink and over the water. As you sit there drinking you can chuckle as you think the piers previous owner tried to ride out hurricane Ike in the house that used to be the bar you're having a beer in.
When they decided to leave, the door downstairs opened up to the Gulf of Mexico.

Is the restaurant with the "largest crab" still in business? Gaitro's or something like that?

Beerfoot gets really trashy at night. I'd stick to Brews Brothers. Tell Justin you want to shotgun barley wine

Gaidos's.
Yes still up and running. Has a second place too on same property. Has more of a beer bar place with a good beer selection and much of Gaidos menu.

+1 sit at the bar by the kitchen and the chef/owner will talk to you all night about cooking

Farley Girls is the best I've had there. Brunch/lunch.
Mosquito Cafe for lunch, though they get a long line most days.
It's a chain, but I like Brick House for snacks and beer. They are packed for the 4th of July parade if that's when you'll be there. You can sit on their front lawn and watch the fireworks.
Bronco Burrito for authentic breakfast burritos. Jones is obsessed. The burrito is spicy as hell.
Rooftop bar at Tremont hotel is very nice.
Skybar sushi has a happy hour so good that it feels like you're stealing or something.
Beerfoot is really nice, but LE is right. It gets oddly trashy at night. Brews Brothers is much better. And their food is good.
