It's getting built where the Arby's was. Anybody been to another location?

If you haven't had frozen custard, you need to.

Oh wait--I just looked it up. We went to one of those recently in another state on vacation. Didn't try anything but the custard, which was good. Kind of reminded me of Dairy Queen, but frozen custard >>> soft serve ice cream.

They have vanilla or chocolate (soft) custard, and you can get "add ins" from a huge list of toppings. They also have some specialty sundaes and concretes (kind of like a Sonic Blast--thick with something mixed in). I'll definitely visit it when they open.

Freddys are pretty damn good. Good burgers, love their patty melt, and the hot dogs are good as well. Frozen custard is amazing...so smooth. Only thing I didn't like at first were the fries, they are really small/thin, but they give you a bunch of them. I kinda like them now.

why would they build that place within 3ft of burgersmith? which i assume is a better burger for basically the same price and serves beer....

Freddy's is more like fast food, not exactly "gourmet" hamburgers. The one we went to had a drive-thru.

It will be better for one reason. Freddy's hires better people. Not the same level as Chick fil A or Raising Cane's but considerably better than McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and Whataburger.

Craiglist readers need not apply.

Siegen Lane has become the go-to street for burgers in BR. If only Olive Garden & Chick-fil-A would start serving a ground meat patty on a bun....Riverside Patty dude is probably thinking WTF.

You thought wrong. Freddys cannot be worse, and certainly wont be as expensive. After 3 trips to 3 different locations, I think Burgersmith may be the worst of all the chains. Serving cold beer is without question their best asset. Burgers aint it.

My thoughts as well. I'm not a "foodie" by any means and I can generally find something I like at any place, but Burgersmith consistently disappoints. It usually takes entirely too long for the food to arrive which is ridiculous since all I'm ordering is a burger. Last time I went, the burger was almost inedible. The lettuce, tomatoes and onions tasted like they had been washed in used dishwater.

I'm never super excited about ANOTHER fast food burger place, but I've heard good things about Freddy's. Certainly will give it a try

From the pictures on their website, Freddy's burgers look like the real thin, crispy patties. I'd call it a diner-style burger. Which I absolutely love

i've been to burgersmith twice i think. the first time it wasn't bad, got the filet burger. 2nd time they didn't give me the option on how to cook the burger. haven't been back since. Guess thats what i get for thinking...

Just seems like an awful lot of burger joints all within a 1/4 mile of each other. shite a lot of restaurants for that matter.... hopefully its decent, although i tend to stay away from burgers for lunch.

Freddys is good. Eaten there a ton. Good fast food, not a sit down place.

Burgersmith is up there with my worst burger experience ever. Start with a 1 hour and 35 minute dining process. (None of that was waiting for a table) Add in a crappy burger. I'm not sure what meat they grind, but the flavor and texture were both the pits. The price for what you get is mismatched to the extreme. It's the only time in recent years I can remember leaving zero tip. Terrible experience and a one & done for the chain for me.

When my son was stationed in Wichita, we went to Freddy's at least once every visit.

Was hoping it'd be a frozen custard and water ice place...but it's not. :(
