Anybody have any recommendations on places to eat around the Farragut station? I can venture out anywhere really in DC but wanted some closer options. I will be here for a whole week.

TIA

There are numerous food trucks everyday around lunchtime in Farragut Square. You should start there for lunch. A few good sandwich places are not far. Try Capriotti's or Bub and Pop's, which are right accross the street from each other on 18th. Near the Connecticut, 18th and M St. traffic cluster. The Real Obama sandwich at Bub and Pop's is pretty incredible.

For dinner, there are tons of places. I suggest Tabard Inn, which is more Dupont than Farragut West, but it's a nice tucked away spot that most tourists don't frequent.

Honestly the kstreet area is mostly office buildings but you can still find some good spots:
Founding Farmers - never a bad experience here. Great american classics from local farmers. If they have deviled eggs, put them in your body
PJ Clarkes - good burger/drinks spot
old ebbits - dc institution
Zaytinya - Jose Andres' take on Mediterranean... enough said. Closer to metrocenter

If you want a steak I like charlie palmers at 101 Constitution. Personally, I can't leave DC without a shepard's pie and a few pints at the dubliner... best irish pub in america, fantastic food with live music every night ( easy red line trip for you to union station)

I second the Dubliner. Can't go wrong with Old Ebbit either.

Also, GBD (Golden Brown Delicious) on Connecticut Ave. right south of Dupont Circle has incredible Fried Chicken and Doughnuts. DGS Deli right next door is pretty good too.

Shelly's back room, highly recommend of you like cigars. Pretty cool

Yeah, Shelley's is great. I work in the area and have been there many times.

Glad you enjoyed the Obama from Bub and Pops. Love that place.
