I've gotten better about eating. I rarely go to buffets, my lunch generally is a salad with tuna or leftover chicken, I don't eat dinner until I feel uncomfortable.
But....
I get McDonald's once or twice a month. Standard order is two McDoubles, two small fries.
I get Taco Bell once a month, generally for breakfast. I like to splurge on an AM Crunchwrap with sausage.
About once a month I get a box full of Albertson's chicken tenders and fries.
All of these are meals I consume entirely in my car.

A couple of years ago, Dunkin Donuts had a peanut butter filled doughnut, with chocolate glaze. The fact that I didn't balloon up to 350 pounds because of those shits is a minor miracle.

Rat, what’s the longest time you’ve kept it, before consuming?
One time we bought about 15 of them. I'd guess it took us about 6 months to go through. I checked a couple of boxes we have - they have expirations ranging from 6 mos to a year.

Y'all ought to risk a dollar and try some. My wife puts it in coffee. I use it cold for drinking with cookies or cake or over cereal. I can't see a difference, but some of y'all are more sensitive than I.

boxed milk

Wow, I never thought of that. Everytime I buy milk, I end up throwing some of it out because I don't use it all before it goes bad. Might have to try this out!

That, my friend, is the point. Please try it.

Ok, I’ll throw in a couple dollars on your pantry milk. It’s still better odds than the lottery!

At one time, Sam's sold ultrapasturized milk in the boxes, like you mentioned. For about a year we drank it, with no (tick-tick) noticeable effects. Then, like everything we like at Sam's, they stopped selling it.

I remember the stuff having a long shelf life at room temperature. That was a plus for us.

With no boys in the house anymore, it’s amazing how long milk lasts! We used to go thru about 2 gallons a day..

They have skim, 1%, 2%, whole and even soy. The stuff really sells, that's why we usually buy as much as we can.

Even if you like to drink fresh milk, you should still keep this around for when you run out unexpectedly.

And if you think about it, regular milk is also heated and cooled.

I like to buy boxed milk at the Dollar Tree. It is so convenient! How many times have you gone to the grocery mainly because you needed milk?

Wow, I have noticed the Horizon brand milk at Walmart and Foodtown. I don't know if it is the same since at first I thought you were talking about powdered milk.

I drink a lot of milk and drink it with pretty much everything besides Italian and Mexican food. Even though it rarely happens to me, I always get the local milk that has the most distant expiration date.

I have noticed the Horizon milk has an expiration of 2 to 3 months sometimes. At Walmart last weekend they even had it on the regular shelf on the cooking goods aisle. I was like "what the crap is that doing here". First time I had seen a carton (1/2 gallon) of milk that wasn't refrigerated.

I did a google search on the image you posted and their website makes it very clear that once it is opened it needs to be treated as regular milk as far as spoilage. But, if you can get in 8 oz. containers that wouldn't be a problem for me.

This may be different than the Horizon if it is good for six months or more. I may have to check it out. Like the website says it would be GREAT for camping or to have in RV's for long periods of time with no refrigeration needed.
