Glock, how fresh were the Westbrook IPAs you found down in Orange Beach?

I can't remember the exact dates but all the Westbrook and jai lai I got was canned mid to late May so it was still good and fresh

I saw some today dated 6/18/15 fwiw.

btw I went and got a growler of Tropicalia today at Hop City and the guy there told me it's basically impossible to find it in cans these days due to so many people wanting it. my wife was telling me the other day how people at work who aren't even into craft beer seek it out just due to the hype around it. which is strange, I mean it's good but it's not Heady Topper level by any means. They get their shipments early on Thursdays I believe fyi, I think they get 3 cases a week..

Damn I used to go there during college all the time when they were in that old tattoo parlor down from Superior. Saw some really cool little shows. They still sell Amstel Lights out of a iced down metal tub for $2 bucks?

This brewery has had mostly all successes so far but I think this new one misses the mark. They describe it as citrusy tropical fruit hops and the guy at the beer store said it's similar to Bell's Two Hearted. I think both are wrong. It's quite bready and the hops fall flat quite quickly. And it's not old, canned a week ago. Almost zero nose to speak of. A rare miss for Orpheus.

SBD: Rail Splitter IPA
TBD: Westbrook Shane's Big DIPA

DIPA is rather disappointing. Mecha is better IMO but this was bottled 3/31 and got put on a UPS truck.

Haha, not sure about the Amstels. I like to bring the good stuff.

Zappas' brothers band is playing tonight. Last time I came here was over a year ago for Joan Baez. Need to come more often. It's a unique, cozy music venue.

I had no trouble finding it at Reynold's Plantation a couple of weeks ago. That was in the boonies, though, and maybe those folks are a little slow in catching up to the latest beer trends...

I surprised a place like that got some cans to be honest! Being are going bonkers over it. What did you think?

4 b d / Burnt Hickory White Flag

Named for deceased punk singer Pat Fear. The apricot really comes through along with some soft sour tones and a thicker texture for a saison. Has some zippy lemongrass and citrus peel to back it up. These guys continue to put out solid beers.

You must be new here and haven't heard me rag on Deep Ellum. Save their IPA, they are completely average.

First set just ended. Great times. He did mention something about a jackass brother who used to DJ at KLSU.

SBD is a La Cumbre Elevated IPA

Maybe I added the jackass part.
