Jax, rec a few bars and restaurants in a fairly centralized location in Portland. Staying on the east side of the river near the Ross Island Bridge. We will have a car so it doesn't need to be walking distance; just not looking to head all the way out to pFriem.

they hope to avoid the scaling problem by ordering 6 systems just like what they currently have, so they can brew more batches just like they do now, rather than brewing huge batches.
Curious approach. Makes sense re: scaling, but you're also introducing absurd amounts of variables. Very curious what kind of yield you'd get on batches like that, and what it means for batch variation. After all, you are working with a living organism. I was told this last batch of Jucifer had about 85% yield, which is outlandishly high, but supporting their vision of always available. Just a weird approach.

Yeezy - I think they also plan to brew an absurd amount of different beers. They aren't planning any distro, so they will have no commitments as to what they have to brew.

Avoid this batch of Sonic. It's bad. Chalky. Tastes like orange Flintstones vitamins with the same texture. Baby was fine. Not the best, but still solid.

I don't see Sonic on the board right now

Closest brewery to where you are is HUB (Hopworks Urban Brewery), which also happens to be a very solid restaurant with a very good atmosphere. Park around back and have a beer in the basement before going upstairs to the restaurant. They have a very nice outdoor deck, too.
There is a nice area to just park and get out and walk around on Division. There is a food cart pod on 29th and Division St, and you can just walk up to Pok Pok, Ava Gene's, and numerous other good restaurants and bars. Imperial Taproom is on 31st and Division, and Whiskey Soda Lounge is just across the street. Salt and Straw is right there, as is Bollywood Theatre (Indian street food). There are so many options right in a 5 block stretch for cocktails/beers and food. You can just walk around and look at menus in the windows and decide.
I'm not your guy if you're looking for clubs. However, if you want to check out some breweries, you can go to the westside and hit up Deschutes, Fatheads, and 10 Barrel, which are all within 3 blocks of each other. Breakside's Hop Lab is just a mile from those three. These are all in the Pearl District, and again, you can walk around and just see what speaks to you. Use your phone to figure out what's near you, as well. Lot's of great spots.
On the east side, Great Notion is the hottest brewery in Portland. Culmination is also going gangbusters. Cascade and The Commons are 2 blocks apart, and Base Camp is a really cools spot to hang out, especially if the weather is good (they have fire pits outside and give you stuff to make s'mores).
The West Side tends to be where the money is and is more hip. The east side is more hipster, and you're likely to end up in a bar/restaurant that used to be a warehouse with loading dock.

Appreciate the info
That jives with what I've read in the little research that I've done; sounds like a lot of really solid places. How easily accessible is pFriem in the bars in those areas?
