FBD Speakeasy Big Daddy IPA while I wait on my breakfast. Flight boards in an hour. Needed something to take the bitter taste of leaving such a wonderful place out of my mouth. This does a good job.

That's the thing about layovers...I always need to figure them into the cost of booking a trip because during layover it's ten bucks a large Sam Adams per half hour (or less), some more expensive flights actually turn out cheaper for me if there's a shorter layover.

Then they hit you below the belt by saying you can buy a shot for dirt cheap with the beer. Used to be a buck in Phoenix which was a no-brainer. I think it's up to three at most places now.

The old "shot with a beer".... I never could quite figure out their advantage in that offering at an airport? I mean if you want a shot they will charge your arse 8 bucks for it. So why give it for a dollar? They are contributing to you pulling the cord on your preflight drinking....if you are half assed responsible that is.

Can't answer that, but I'd never pass up a shot of Jamie whiskey for a buck.

I think you have to consider someone's schedule before making that bold of a statement brah. I mean, when do you ever see me drinking at night? My window for drinking is lunch time to mid afternoon.

Some others on here drink from 6:00pm until late at night.

I ain't trying to justify my drinking hours, I don't have to. Im just trying to enlighten you that everyone's "happy hour" isn't set by your schedule.

Everybody has different tolerances for alcohol. I have drank far more in my life than I care to mention, but alcoholism has never been a problem, for me. I've never worried about it, and these days, I mainly drink on weekends, only, and even then, I moderate (not the case in my younger days).

I have a cousin here in Portland that has been an alcoholic since high school and has struggled with it for 30 years. I would love to have a beer with him, but I can't.

The biggest issue with beer for me is that as I've grown older, I tend to put on lbs. when I drink. I am abstaining during the week and getting in a few extra workouts to brink the weight down. I will continue to be a weekend maven until my figure is a little more trim...

Yeh. My schedule is just funky. People laugh at me on here and say that I live in Bazzaro World because I typically drink on Mon, Tues, and Wed during the mid-day to mid-afternoon hours. Then I'm posting stuff like "see ya guys tomorrow, I'm on to water for the night" at 5:00pm and rarely drink on the weekend. But I check in on the FBD weekend threads and say "see ya guys on Monday"

I just happen to schedule my travel/work hours that those hours turn out it be my "weekend/happy hours". I choose to spend my "real" weekends and other hours at home with my wife and kiddos without having a bottle in my hand.

No big deal...I'm not a hero for doing that and one isnt a villain for doing the opposite....that's just the way I do/can schedule my time.
