6 b d / Tallgrass Brewing Big Ricc courtesy of my homeboy Ham

This is plus quality. Heavy on the charred / roasted coffee with a mellowing out via caramel and vanilla. Even level of carbonation which is key with stouts as sometimes they can be too thick (syrupy).

Not a terrible place. But yeah I took a look and you're pretty limited from what I can see, there's nothing else save for a couple steakhouses - Morton's or Ruth's. Maybe try giving Coquette or some of the uptown restaurants a call who may not be on OpenTable / do online reservations.

Thanks. Yeah I may call that day to see if there are any last minute openings. Hitting up Marcello's Friday night for the first time.

It is a very nice event. Great beer and very well organized and run.

That's what I've heard from other friends who went. I'll go next year.

NBD is a Ghost by the fire. Did they tweak anything this time? Top notch.

Eggplant app. Pork cheeks. Really enjoyed our meal there a couple weeks ago.

I think it is very similar to the last batch. Maybe he's settled on a recipe.

I wouldn't be mad if he "settled" on this one.

I didn't see any talk about tweaks like the first few batches and it tastes similar. Ghost is a world-class beer to be proud of IMO.

I think it is maybe a little more bold and flavorful than the last batch. Very juicy. Lots of raw hop character, maybe not quite as crisp on the finish though. Still crushable.

Since the last batch was released, he got some new equipment specific for brewing Ghost. Not sure what difference that made.

I agree. Not like the Sunny D batch 4, but a bit more citrusy than the last batch. I love it.

Less bourbon than I expected; plenty of oatmeal thickness. Has a subtle sweet finish like whiskey but with none of the bite.
