Going to start trying my winter bulk on Keto as a change of pace to my past "dirty bulks" over the winter.

What are some of your favorite keto meals/recipes you have tried so far. I remember reading a few of the people in the Puttheforkdown thread are doing the Keto diet.

Crustless quiche. So many variations.

Stuffed bell pepper without rice, using bulk sausage/ground beef combo with diced yellow squash, zucchini, mushrooms, peppers & cheese & pine nuts.

Fast Food: Get your favorite bacon cheeseburger, ask for extra lettuce. Throw away the bun and eat it like a cheeseburger salad. Don't ask for it without the bun, or you likely won't get all the condiments. The usual condiments help you feel like you've just had a burger.

Alternatively, make your own burger and put it on a salad.

Taco salad, without the shell. I prefer to make my own so I can make sure there is no added sugar in my taco seasonings.

Cabbage rolls without rice. Also, unstuffed cabbage rolls.

Tuna salad or chicken salad served with pork rinds instead of crackers.

Pimento cheese & pork rinds (look at the ingredients to check sugar content if using store bought pimento cheese)

Boiled shrimp and crawfish!!!!!!!

Fat head pizza is a good one. I've been on keto for about six weeks. Mostly just meat, cheese, and veggies but every once in a while I'll do something "carb-like" like the pizza.

Those are all good low carb ideas but is there enough fat content to make those keto meals?

Roasted cauliflower soup. You can increase the fat content with some cream and your favorite cheese. Garnish with some chopped bacon and chopped green onions to add texture.

I usually use lots of cheese in my quiche and stuffed peppers and salads. I also use avocado in many of my salads. I haven't actually used the keto sticks in a long time, but I managed to be in ketosis pretty regularly.

Oh, and fajitas without the tortilla is another one when dining out.

I recommend the salads at Newks, next to Whole Foods.

Specifically, the shrimp and avocado salad.

You get 12 large shrimp served over a large bed of Arugula, with chunks of avocado and feta cheese sprinkles mixed in, and a few grape tomatoes. Dressing is a lemon vinaigrette. It's large enough to get almost 2 meals out of it.

This thing is great. I used to make zucchini noodles and grilled chicken 'pasta' thing. I threw in some seasonings (I really liked Bragg's 24 spices or something) and at Rouse's I found some Go-Veg Parmesan cheese which I added to the noodles after I sauteed them. It's silly easy and was a good substitute for when you want something like a pasta. Was one of my favorite meals.

Good to know. I want to try several of the other salads.

Soups are good. White bean and kale soup is a lot better than Whole Foods.

BTW, are beans okay on keto diet?

What recipe do you use for your own taco seasoning. I was looking at the little packets and noticed ~4g carbs each which surprised me

I bought one of those to try out some zucchini noodle alfredo. I hate zucchini, but the alfredo sauce I made was awesome; couldn't really taste the zucchini

Lots of the pre-made taco seasonings have dextrose or sucrose or some other "ose" ending ingredient. Also, anti-caking ingredients and sometimes potato starch or other thickening agents.

Mine is basically this (but you can play around with more or less onion powder, garlic powder, etc.)

1 Tbs chili powder (I like Penzey's medium hot)
1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
1/4 tsp dried oregano

Just stumbled upon this thread. I've been following keto for over a year.

As BR said above, chicken wings are the go-to Keto meal. Especially from Blue Oak BBQ.

My favorite low carb recipe: Chicken Parm

Cracklin Chicken

Get some Joseph's Pitas made from Flax. 5g net carbs each. I find them at Walmart and Dorignacs. I use this as a base to make pizza and bring with me to restaurants like Byblos, Lebanons, etc

Desserts:
For baking, I buy large bags of erythritol from Amazon. I have a coffee/spice grinder that I use to powder the grains which yields better results. I get Honeyville almond flour from Costco.

Cast Iron Skillet Brownies

Choc Chip Brownie Bark

Maple Pecan bars

Peanut Butter Cookies
