I can do a "how to" thread on this. My mom cooks some phenomenal Biryani.

Yes please. I'm on a HUGE garam masala kick lately and would love to add another use for it. I also can't find the spice blend locally so I've ordered some smaller sizes from Amazon in order to determine which I like best. Up to now, I've found Rani brand to be my favorite. See if you can find out which is your mom's favorite blend and let me know.

I still can't believe you missed those meat pies at Ronnie's Ribs. Maybe it was strictly a special order thing, but one of our managers was Jamaican and he would bring them in to the office. A couple of dozen would get wiped out in no time. They were incredible.

Nope, never got to try them. Like I've said, they were a small operation so I chose to consume the food that they would already put out which seemed like the right thing to do. I was very happy with the lunch spread and would be content eating that 3-4 days a week.

She makes her own I believe. I can get the mix for it (what it consists of)

Speaking of, has there been any more movement on this:

I haven't heard boo in months.

The hotel is opening around Labor Day and the deli is still a part of it. Now is it going to be open the same time as the hotel or will it come on line a few weeks later, I'm not sure.

BBQ in Louisiana is ethnic. A nice authentic Jamaican or Caribbean would be nice.

German

Germans immigrants actually settled Highland Road and Essen, when they were looking for higher ground for their crops and livestock. A traditional German restaurant with a beer garden that served German beef, pork and veal and dishes like Rouladen, Sausages and kale, sauerbraten, wurst and schnitzel would rock.. Being German, I'd like to open one and call it Highlander.. or Buckhorn.

The only time I've had Sauerbraten is at the Deutsche Haus in New Orleans for Oktoberfest. It was delicious and I bet it's not as good as yours. Looks delicious.

Great job.. Don't know how I missed that post. But the seasonings and marinade.. excellent. And the red cabbage. Nice.
