Envie at Avenue Pub

I had an Envie at Avenue Pub last week that, according to the menu, was kegged on July 13th. It tasted closer to Ghost than Envie.
I bought a six pack of Envie dated 6/27 and it wasn't even close to that color and taste. The bottled Envie was closer to that hazy yellow that I expect from Envie. The one at Avenue Pub was almost indistinguishable from ghost.
CSB, I know, but I found it interesting.

Some home brewer guy here said it was the same beer. Maybe it was Opus, I don't remember well.

i'm going to the source today with a portable gas chromatography for a complete analysis of said contents

Parish is bottling the same beer in 3 different bottles and raping the public

they have certainly figured out how to capitalize on their 2 good recipes (GR)... change the abv and turn it into 3! profit!

I can second this. Went to Red Zeppelin's over the weekend and the bartender said she had some fresh Envie. Grabbed me a glass and I thought it was definitely Ghost. Color was more of a darker orange that is typical with Ghost(DIPA).
One of a few possibilities here:
a. Parish got their kegs mixed up and we are enjoying some GiTM as opposed to Envie
b. Parish has gotten their recipes mixed up
c. We are idiots

Same thing for me. Had Envie on draft at Lagers.... Taste like ghost.

I believe I saw it on this board a while back that Parish changed the recipe for Envie. the people posting referred to the new Envie as Baby Ghost, because the new recipe was almost identical. really the only difference in beers now is alcohol content.

Envie 3 weeks ago at Hot Tin Rooftop bar in Nola
Opus at the brewery
Opus at home
And FWIW, i can tell a difference. Envie is fantastic. I find Opus to be more lemon/citrus fruit forward than Envie. I find the bottle version of Opus as opposed to the source tap to have the hops (lemon/citrus) notes to be slightly less prevalent.

Yeah that was a while back and I have had a batch since the recipe change and it was nothing like this latest batch of Envie. The color between Envie and GiTM was always very distinguishable as well as a taste difference. Not sure what's going on

You mouth-breathing neckbeards have made me hate beer. But don't worry. I'll still buy as much Ghost as I can just so I can flip it.
But mostly so you frickbois can't have it.

Bought a 6-pk of Envie at Leblanc's Frais Marche yesterday dated 7/5/16 and it tastes EXTREMELY similar to Ghost. Only difference I'd say is it isn't a slap in the face right away like Ghost is. It's just a smoother experience I find. Love it regardless

Don't worry the 7/26 Ghost has a baby bite but it's weaker than previous batches by far.....

So I just finished a 7/5 envie and I noticed something. Wasn't previous envie batches filtered? Because the last little bit has all sorts of floaties at the bottom of the glass.

It's been unfiltered since last fall some time.
