Today is National Empanada Day. Got me thinking, what is the difference between an empanada and a meat pie? Anywhere to get a good empanada/meat pie in BR?

Based only on my personal experience.
The meat seasoning is a big difference. Natchitoches meat pies tend to be more flaky and pastry-like than empanadas. Meat pies are more greasy in my experience as well.
