We are going to an Italian joint near the galleria here in Houston that does family style meals. Its glorious.

Smothered green beans (over coals in a black pot)

It's always a hit at our house. You can make it Saturday too and just pop it into the refrigerator after assembly to hold until Sunday. If that scares you, put it into the freezer for a couple or three hours after you get it assembled and then transfer to the refrigerator Saturday night.

We're eating out, but we used to do grillades and grit and omelets to order, with biscuits, jelly, ham, peas, fresh fruit salads and the like.
