Grapevine is good I hear

Grapevine is very good. Come back across the river and go downriver about 4 miles to Hymel's for seafood. When the crabs are running they are the best at boiled.

Chef's and Grapevine as has been stated

Grapevine is one of my wife and i's favorite date spots for dinner, just wasn't sure what to expect for lunch and coming from a construction site.

and if he is willing to cross the river for Hymel's then he should also not have a problem crossing for Cafe Burnside at Houmas House.

I chose The Chance today, wasn't too impressed. The burger was tiny and the garlic fries weren't anything like I was expecting, plain in mcdonalds looking frozen fries with some sauce on top that I'm not sure I would describe as garlic sauce.

No one has said deneauxs(sp) pronounced da-news.... Ooh my gosh... That is the shiznit, the bee's knees.... It's a little meat market type place that only does to go orders and only has lunch plates...

The Chance's food is pretty meh. But everyone in town likes going there because of tradition and its history.
Grapevine is the best restaurant in town. Certainly doesn't fit the mold of D'ville, but it has been a welcomed addition to the town.
My favorite place for plate lunches is Chef's by far. Their chicken is LOADS better than Popeye's. Maybe I'm just a sucker for the soul food but I dig it.

It's pretty much Chef's for fast food or Grapevine for something at a different tier.
I think Thursdays @ Midway Grocrey on Railroad is jambalaya day and it's good comfort food.

Haha yep, reminds me of when I was a kid. Probably one of the only restaurants in the world that my dad, myself, my grandfather and my great grandfather have all enjoyed a meal outside of the grand old french quarter restaurants that are still standing...

A lot of the local gas stations have a decent lunch for their price. For a sit down place you are limited though as the Grapevine and Cajun-La-Mex are the two options I think of off the top of my head.
Drive an extra 5 minutes and you can go to Politz or Dairy Inn and an extra 5 minutes from that and a couple of options in Napoleonville.

Grapevine is legit.
Crabmeat stuffed chicken breast is very good buto my favorite is the pecan encrusted fish. Also, turtle soup is pretty good.
Grapevine cafe is easily the best thing about D'ville.
