Does Southern Star Brewery read TD.com?

lulz. I posted some complaints on here in the FBD threadsa bout how this great local brewery seemingly never updates their website...a week later, their website is updated...coincidence? I think not.

still no offical news on there about making the DIPA Pro-AM an all around release (as rumored on this board)...

Also, has anyone tried their seasonal old ale "Old Potentate"?

I'll hang up and listen

I can't say they have anyone working there directly that reads the board, but there are folks that communicate with them that do

I can't take any credit, I don't know any of the folks there.

I just know what I hear.

I haven't, didnt even know it exists, but I'll grab some on my next trip to Conroe. I may not go out hunting beer again until Sixpoint 3Bean starts showing up though

I finally got my Sixpoint Diesel and Karbach Hellfighter from List Eater yesterday, pretty excited to try them, he says the Hellfighter is really good

I've never had Southern Star beer. What are some recommendations?

I've enjoyed them all, with Pro-Am (DIPA) my favorite. Pine Belt Pale Ale is an everyday-type of drinker. Le Mort and Walloon aren't my preferred style of beers.

The Bombshell Blonde, Pine Belt Pale, and Buried Hatchet Stout are all solid beers. The ProAm IIPA is very good. The Le Mort Vivant was just ok but certainly drinkable.

Agreed. I enjoyed this beer straight out of the can. It was one of the beers I could grab, say I don't give two shits about pouring it, drink, and enjoy. Some days I just want it straight from the can.

Pine Belt Pale Ale is really good for an every day drinker that is so much more...and they come in 16 oz cans!

Pro-Am is their best--DIPA and its top notch.

Haven't had the Blonde but I hear its good... The Le Mort isn't really my style so I haven't tried it. Buried Hatchet stout is solid.

I reallly want to taste the Old Potentate

I like Southern Star, but I never buy it in Louisiana. Whenever I'm in Texas I pick up some sixers because it is about $4 cheaper per six pack over there.

I wonder why St. Arnold and Shiner are the same price everywhere, but Southern Star is way more expensive in Louisiana than Texas.

St Arnold and Shiner are far far bigger outfits with a vastly better distribution system. They also produce a crap ton more beer than SS

Honestly after 28 days on the wagon any beer at all sounds appealing to me!
