Wicked Good Weekend Warrior is excellent lump, it is dense and some bags have from fist sized pieces to some the size of my forearm. Mix that with BGE/Primo lump or Royal Oak and you have an excellent long burning fuel source.

Thanks for the info.

It appears as if Wicked Good doesn't have any local distributors of their products, so I'd have to order online.

Gonna go grab a few bags next time I am home. My friend said I could have as many as I wanted!

Go grill dome. You will not be disappointed and will save a couple hundred in the process.

Looks to me like the Grill Dome and BGE are the same price: $1100 for the XL or Superdome, $800 for the large. Maybe so 25 bucks or so?

RO, last time I looked, makes a higher grade lump that goes into BGE/Primo brands. The normal red bag RO is OK, but is less dense than the others and will burn faster with more ash. There was a RO with Brazilian wood in it that sparked a lot, which is not what you want. RO is fine for faster cooks, but not as good for low and slows.

If you have Ace/True Value hardware stores in your area they can get WG through their system, at least they can in the ATL market.

I actually pulled the trigger on a Primo Oval Xl. If I had gone with the regular size/shape it would have almost definitely been the Grill Dome though because of the superior thickness of the ceramic and the all stainless hardware.

What about a kamado joe?

The only thing that scares me about the GD is paint chipping.

Have you read about problems with the finish? I don't think I've ever seen anything about it.

As long as you maintain the finish and shut it down correctly you should be fine. I've heard there was some problems in older models, not the newer ones.

Also, the people I've read who have had problems in the past have gotten taken care of by Grill Dome. Their lifetime warranty and customer service is top notch.

Thanks. I built it myself -- if I had to guess it took easily over 150+ hours from start to finish to complete.
