Lady came by and invited us to their new year party next Saturday.
I'd like to make something and contribute. Anyone know a recipe they've made that came out good?
TIA

Eating Thai Food Blog
American expat who lives in Thailand. Blogs about nothing but Thai food (on this website). Find a dish that you can get the ingredients for on his recipes section and enjoy. All,authentic, and all super delicious.

Been looking over a bunch of his recipes for a few minutes,
This lady laughed when I asked if they were having any Pad Thai.

meatballs have really been growing on me lately. The beef meatballs here are very good — quite large and smooth, yet very firm, and bouncy.

I've made the larb and the basil chicken (couldn't find holy basil, though). I love larb. It's my go to dish when I need some stick to my ribs. Goes great in little lettuce wraps.

Tom Kha Gai is an easy soup to make. Unfortunately, I don't have a go to recipe. The ingredients include coconut milk, chicken stock, lemongrass, galangal, fish sauce, lime juice, straw mushrooms, diced chicken. Also, you could make it with shrimp instead of chicken, but that changes the name of the soup.
Larb is also good. Larb (with pictures)
What about Thai curry? Use ready made curry paste, coconut milk, and a combination of vegetables and meat. Sorry, again, I don't follow a recipe.

Massaman CurryThis one is pretty simple. A bit of variation out there. I like a little pineapple in mine.

I'm no expert but I like reading this Thai lady's recipe blog. Hit the recipe Index and see what sounds good.
