Has anyone ever had a burger from here? I had one this week and I swear it was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten.

It's in North Baton Rouge off of McLelland Dr.

I've eaten there. I think it's decent, not as good as I've seen it hyped to be though.

It is the best hamburger in BR hands down.
By a lot. I've been eating it since about 1970. Get a chocolate shake to go with it.

I didn't even know it existed so I'm not sure about any hype about this place

It's a good burger for sure, but I like Raul's on airline better. A little safer too as its on a major road, and not in the deep ghetto.

Raul's puts too much worchestershire for me much like Tramantis.
But I'm a lily white guy that has been going to Dixie Maid for all my life and I have never once felt unsafe. It is far from deep in the ghetto not that that matters. Fraidy cats miss out.

Is this Raul's run by the same people that run the one on Highland?

I saw it mentioned on this board multiple times so I finally went. Patty was dry and tomato wasn't ripe. Not saying it was bad, but it certainly wasn't anything special. Kinda reminded me of Riverside Patty. I've had better burgers at Curbside, Mooyah, City Pork, etc

It sure don't look like the "best burger in town"..

Sounds like it's a hole in the wall in ghetto north BR so people rave because they feel cool saying they go there. When in reality, it is an overcooked patty with shitty iceberg and tomato on a Great Value bun.

Says someone who has never been there.
First it's not ghetto, it was working class white people who worked at Standard Oil refinery and a lot of country people from rural Louisiana and Mississippi lived there and as most cities gradually started moving farther out however there are still a good amount of white families in the area. I feel sorry for people who are afraid to go to places because they assume they will get beat up, mugged or killed.
And it's a hamburger, not beef tenderloin. It's a homemade hamburger that we all grew up on and it's my preferred style. I imagine you're an avocado and sprouts on a brioche bun kind of burger guy. Probably eat it with a fork.

I vaguely recall Dixie Maid ice cream but that isn't the same I don't believe. Wasn't that a creamory out of Lafayette or somewhere around there?
I vaguely remember Lilly Milk too when I was a kid but I believe they shut down because of the unions when I was very little. I remember my parents talking about them and the drivers being harassed by the teamsters.

Well this is just flat out wrong.
I agree with your assessment of the burger, it's great for what it is, but to say it's not in the ghetto is just not true.
