Something I made from the steel tub in an old dishwasher. It's almost done. I just have to hook up a PID to control temp, insulate the door and put in racks.

Nice! Looks like an early production model of the Cookshack

Some pics of finishing it off and a few smokes I have done with it.

The PID temp controller I put together and a test I did with a lamp for a heat source before I put it together.

Added the mailbox to have the smoke outside the cook chamber to allow cold smoking. Also mounted my temp controller.

Built a cart to move it aorund.

Closed in the cart for cabinets and a work table

This is the smoke generator that goes in the mailbox

Getting ready to cold smoke some belly bacon and cheese.

Smoking jerky

A pork butt about to be foiled

Smoking slimjims

Smoking andouille

Ribs I smoked in it

Smoking christmas summer sausage

Smoking canadian bacon

that's a seriously cool DIY project. looks like some good stuff you're smokin' over there.

question: is there a counterbalance in the cart?

No counterbalance. It's pretty heavy on the handle end but manageable.

Thanks y'all
