My oldest son is 10 and has never been anywhere with live cajun music and old people dancing. He made A's on all of his tests this past week so I want to take him out somewhere and I think he'd enjoy that. I am in New Roads, so anywhere from Baton Rouge to Lafayette is ok. I searched Mulate's in Breaux Bridge and found that they closed that location and now it's called Pont Breaux. Reviews don't look so good. I know there's Prejean's in Lafayette but there's usually not much dancing there, just music, when we go. What do we have in the area that actually has good food to go along with music and dancing on a Saturday night? Last place I went like that was Brunet's. I used to love the food there, was sad to see it close. Boutin's is out....been there and didn't like the food at all. Thanks!

NOLA is too far. If I have to, I'll give this Pont Breaux place a shot. The music and dancing is the most important as I want him to see it, but it would be nice for the wife and I if the food was good.

Prejeans.. Off of I-49 near Carencro, north of Lafayette.

Food is pretty good and there is a band almost every night.

Does prejean's usually have a good bit of dancing now? Been there a few times over the years, food was good but it seemed like more of a restaurant with music playing in the background. I want him to see the dancing. I may look into Randol's. Never heard of that one.

I'd say check out Randols if you're looking for music and dancing. Here's a video to give you an idea:

Randols has a great dance floor and always a good good band but I'm not a fan of the food.

If it's music and food, go to Mulates in Breaux Bridge.

Very small, low ceiling but great atmosphere.

Randol's would be my suggestion for the Cajun music/dancing, although from what I remember the food is nothing special.

Neither Randol's or Pont Breaux's has great food, but I like the Friday night band at Pont Breaux's and you can get better food than Red Lobster!

Lee Benoit plays on Friday nights. The music and the dancing can be fun.

Bad reading comprehension on my part. You said Saturday night, not Friday night. Paul Daigle will be playing at Randol's and that would be worth going to hear. I've had good food at Randol's and I've had shitty food at Randol's. You go for the music and the dancing.

I don't recognize the name of the person playing at Pont Breaux's tomorrow night.
