No argument with any of that. I think BK actually seeks out the dumbest people they can find to hire.

Popeyes has developed the neat little trick of actually getting your money before they tell you your chicken's going to be another 12 minutes before it's ready.

Operator's

Technically, there are not franchises or franchisees. Every store is owned by the Corporate.

An operator gets a store for only $5,000 cash. That's the easy part. The number of applicants is incredible. Hence, corporate can be very selective about who they choose .. ie values and mentor-ability.

and ftw, CFA is not publicly traded.

Haha I forgot about Popeyes. They our horrible. I have never had a good experience with them. Slow as heck and not friendly. But they are always busy so they must be doing something right.

Why is it that ChickFilA can attract a higher quality worker than McDonalds?

I am a firm believer that if you hold people to a hire standard most will step up and meet that standard. The ones that don't end up where they deserve.

Popeye's in Dutchtown. They're doing a good job. I got lunch there earlier this week and I didn't even have to pull forward.

I mentioned at Balcony Bar that they have a salad there that's pretty good and the new chef looks at me and says, "frick Chick-Fil-A" then continues her conversation.

They make good food, and haven't really done anything to gay people. So stupid.

I wonder how long it will be before they are sued out of business for racial discrimination in their hiring practices.

Depends on where you go to. I've seen certain groups of people at BK and McDonald's show more respect, speak better than white customers. The further south you go, the more dumb certain groups get, it's a fact.

I got a nugget meal with large drink for $6.75 today. That same meal at McDonalds is going to cost about the same. You can easily go $8.00 at McDonalds on some of their chicken sandwiches.

Plenty of black people work at ChickFilA. The girl that took my order was black. One of the managers at the one on Siegen is black.

I agree with this. Chick-a-fil, as my dad still calls it, keeps business simple and hires good kids.

In-N-Out has a very similar business model and hiring strategy. It's always a pleasure kids working a job where they're happy.

Part of the Operator's responsibility in managing the store is preparing young people for life/ career / college. Store Operator's are actually supposed to be mentors as well as bosses.

yep. My sister has worked there through college b/c she has enjoyed it so much, not b/c she needs the money. They are very flexible and want to retain their employees after college for their corporate positions

This is most certainly not a F&D thread. I wasn't asking about the taste of the nuggets.

I could see it being moved to the Poli board before the F&D board.

A big reason CFA's are run so well is the franchisee only owns a single store for the most part. In most cases the franchisee sets foot in the restaurant at least once a day.
