A buddy of mine boiled crawfish last weekend for some friends (around Alexandria).... and he paid $1.40/lb for 4 sacks of selects, and had to add an extra sack of mediums (they were out of selects) that ran him $.75/lb. The mediums were plenty good sized and certainly a great deal for $.75/lb

Anywho, I decided I would boil for my wife and our moms/sisters/etc for Mothers Day in BR. Its insane that everyone seems to have cheaper prices than BR.

Aggrevates me. I am willing to drive for cheaper crawfish. If even out of spite.

Since I am looking, I figured I would mark the prices of where I called today so you would all know if you were interested:

Tonys: $2.19
Addis: $1.50 Medium, $2 Large, $2.50 Select
Christian Brothers: $2.25 Pond, $2.50 Spillway
Montelbanos: $2.29
Marty J's: @.29
Capital City: $2.15
Sammys: $2.10
Tommy's: $2.25

Got some medium size in LaPlace last weekend for $30 bucks for a sack. He had 500 sacks from a rice pond in Rayne. We bought two sacks...no complains.

The guy posted it on our St. John For Sale page on Facebook. I heard he had a cop directing traffic because he was selling so many.

His name is Dustin Gautreau.

There is a crawfish processing place in Krotz Spring, when I passed last week they had a sign out that said $40 a sack. I am passing there tomorrow, I will try to get a name or number...

They're running $40 a sack for field run around Lafayette.

I got a sack Sunday and they were decent sized.

Wish I hadn't read this thread, I paid $1.99/lb here in New Orleans last week. I didn't think it was a bad deal at the time.

Retail selects were $1.95 here Sunday, though I did see a restaurant offer sacks at $1.75 that afternoon.

Can't blame the farmers this time. High prices are on the retailers in BR now.
