Specific question for anyone in NOLA that has been. Is it like most other Costco's and offer decent prices on spirits, beer, and wine?

I have been to Costco's in multiple states (and I know that liquor laws are different everywhere), but I was wondering what the prices are like. For example, the Costco in Austin had Don Julio Anejo for $43 and good prices on 24 packs of beer.

Not in NOLA, but mine in SF has good offerings.

I would also suggest trying the KIRKLAND spirits. Allegedly made by bigtime companies. Their small batch bourbon is supposed to be Bullit.

Never been to a Costco. I have a membership at Sam's. Is Costco the same thing? Better?

I thought this about SAMS club. I figured Costco was the better version of good workers, highly paid, quality food, and excellent service?
I've never been, so will be highly disappointed if it's not the case. I literally bought bigger coolers at work, and more storage space to keep from going to SAMS more than I have to. I freakin HATE that place.

I may roll over there this weekend. Think I'll pull the trigger. A friend of mine joined a week or two ago and loves it. You also get a crack at the cheap gas they peddle.

I hear the meat, cheese, wine is a pretty solid value. Not to the quality of a premium store but better then a typical grocery.

Costco is the better version of SAMS. Workers get paid well, and have medical.

CEO makes $500k a year, profits go back into company.
Everything has a strict 15% markup, no more. (Walmart has up to a 500% markup on some items)

Kirkland spirits buys out left over batches from big companies and sells them. Most famously their Scotch, which is made by Macallan.

My roommate is obsessed with Costco. He has such a poor social life that he goes there for fun. And I fuxking hate it b/c he's 31, single, has absolutely no game w women, yet shops like he has a family of 6 which leaves no room for any of my groceries in the fridge. I've tried to explain to him that buying fruits and veggies in bulk will only go bad but doesn't understand b/c "it's such a good deal". Not sure if he's gay or has asbergers. I've ranted enough. That was a needed laugh. At least you can eat his fruit and veggies without worry.

I visit Costco weekly here in GA. It is amazing. Much better quality than Sams. In fact I will admit to eating lunch there once or twice a week

Sample throughout the food section and then after I checkout I hit up a giant slice of pizza/drink for $1.50. Can't beat lunch for < $2.00

But seriously, I buy the Kirkland TP and Paper Towels in bulk, keep them in the basement and grab as I need them. So much better than buying from a normal grocery store. I also get good deals on Razors, Detergent and sometimes clothes. You can get nice work polos or button ups for < $20. I just bought a top of the line Keurig K75 model which retails for $175 at Target & BB&B for $125 last week. That $50 savings alone paid for my yearly membership.
