Planning on cooking bananas foster this weekend for the first time. Have a receipe from Brennans that calls for rum. Rum will be flamed. Do I need to have 151 or will regular rum work?

Works fine. Take the pan off of the heat before you add the rum.

do not use 151 rum...use regular rum and I find warming the rum before adding helps with the flaming.

Wild Turkey adds a great flavor to Bananas Foster. Try it both ways, dark rum and one with turkey, you will be surprised.
