The hag that created that shite show of a recipe needs to be dug up and spanked.

I laughed so hard I cried at the OP. Molds have always been off putting to me. Always thought they belonged at a Baptist Sunday afternoon luncheon in the middle of Kanas where no one was younger than 55.

That stuff looks gross and I only cook good stuff.

Oh the insult you have delivered to a basically good guy from the landmass.

You know, I can't go into the weekend all pissed off, so I forgove you.

Regarding your string of photos Mr. Arse:

That is some gross looking photography you posted there, brother.

My favorite: "If your roses get aphids, just sprinkle a little DDT on them."

You know, Ruzil, we played in DDT laced Mosquito fog as kids, breathed tons of it chasing the fog machine through the neighborhood.

I must say, I haven't had a aphid in years, so the stuff must work.

I bet you have some in areas you can no longer easily check. Your apparent non infestation with aphids is certainly from a lack of looking.

God bless my mother - she has always tried to cook nice things, but just never quite got the hang of it. Some of the things posted here, she fed to me as a kid. There was one dish - chicken in a thick, floury, white sauce with almonds (and almond extract), that had the taste of a bad medicine. Regardless, I love ya, Mom.

Check out the microwave cookbooks from the 80s or so. They were touting some major dishes being cooked completely in the micro. I remember the micro makers/sellers often held cooking classes too.

Appalling recipes from the Golden Age of Butter has been James Lileks's Internet turf for more than 15 years.

Check out the motherlode. Countless hours of amazement, amusement and revulsion await:

You want an awesome recipe including bananas and meat? Try this one, made popular at Brennans, which combines filet mignon in a red wine-mushroom sauce with bananas and horseradish. It's delicious.

FWIW, I love the pear/mayonnaise/cheese/cherry stuff. I get it at the Crystal Grill in Greenwood every time I'm up in that neck of the woods.
