Looks great!

I've seen this thing in person. If you don't mind GR's inappropriate and repetitive sexual advances, it's a great place to hang out.

So, it's just like hanging out with "that" uncle? Wait, what?

they did reinforce the area around the columns, dug about 3 feet below the surface for support, etc. So the concrete shares the load. We have a warranty for the structure, so I'll be on the lookout for any issues.

You should be good to go, i was just thinking it would be a shame to spend all that money and then have it crack up because the structure wasn't sound. Plus with your warranty you should be well protected.

Hey man, I don't care who is over, I'm not wearing pants in my own backyard.

I'm pretty sure he's referring to when you start tugging at the other men's pants.

Curious what would you have liked to see added or what dollar amount would have been suitable for nice.

for $60K, the aesthetics could have been better. the soft sofa is right up on the table. The bar is on the other side of the kitchen area--people want to sit at the bar around the cooking. The floors are meh.

it's nice and great, but I would think $60K could get you a little better look on a cookie cutter house.

What's this got to do with the cost? That's a furniture placement preference.

Another preference feature that has nothing to do with cost to build/install. And I disagree highly. People want to sit near the cooking but not on top of it. And the beer and TV are much more social pieces than the grill. This design was my main objective to avoid smoking people out. We'll have chairs around the fire pit at some point. Nobody is trying to sit around that these days. Either way, you still haven't supported a cost opinion.

First and only thing that's even remotely related to cost. We almost went with porcelain tile with wood look, but I'm actually extremely pleased with the floors.

There is enough room between the two.

Personally, I'd rather not sit next to a hot and smoky pit if I'm not cooking. I'd rather sit at the bar with the beer and TV.

Nice set up you have there. I want to build a outdoor kitchen and just can't pull the trigger. It's coming one day soon. When I do pull the trigger my wife is going to tear my up.

Ryno, do you have any pics of your addition? I am looking at doing an outdoor kitchen this summer. Mine is going to have to be traditional attached hip roof on part of it and poly carbonate covered pergula on the other part due to the way the back of my house is with brick and windows in the great room.

No woman I've ever been with would want to go over to a cookout and sit/stand near a grill for any extended amount of time. Usually they spend a lot of time fixing themselves up with makeup, perfume, etc and don't want to smell like a rack of ribs. Even though that's kind of a turn on....

That house has a crazy roof line.

I'm guessing you live in the Dallas or Austin area.

This isn't Benihana. I don't want to sit in a bunch of heat and smoke and watch somebody flip burgers.

If I wanted to be around the pit I'd be standing with beer in hand.
