Looks really good, quite jealous. One questions though, did you put any kind of footing or at least thicken the concrete below your roof support posts? I couldn't tell from the pictures. the reason I ask is the person who previously lived in the house I currently live in added a car port to the side of the existing garage, he didn't put any kind of footing or thicken the slab at the edge where the posts are located, now the concrete is cracked to shite and sinking at one of the post locations. With the soil conditions in south Louisiana I highly recommend to anyone doing an addition to go overboard on the slab/foundation to prevent future slab/foundation issues.

Yea spending a quarter of the cost of your house on the back patio is a little excessive. Looks nice though.

Where you getting a $200k house in a fairly thriving part of the greater Houston metro?

I am not proficient in building details, but they did reinforce the area around the columns, dug about 3 feet below the surface for support, etc. So the concrete shares the load.

We have a warranty for the structure, so I'll be on the lookout for any issues.

Really nice. Would eat and drink there.

Also, may want to add it to this Outdoor kitchens thread. It's linked in a sticky on the outdoor board. Good ideas and things in there. Sure they'd love to see it.

We have, and I was honestly shocked at the minimal change. The grill, the side burner and the fire pit are all on the house gas, and we've used the hell out of them (more so the grill and burner). The bill went up about $4-5.

I'm sure it will be more in the winter when we use the pit more. And I won't be turning it up as high as in that picture. I was just test driving her.

If so, then you're not doing it right. Build a gas heated swimming pool next. You're gonna see $300+ in January

Very Nice !! Curious as to how they tied the roof into the existing structure?. I have a similar issue to deal with.

Curious what would you have liked to see added or what dollar amount would have been suitable for nice.

It's only excessive if you can't afford it. Sounds like you couldn't

Nice.

I was so worried about the fence behind the counter area. So happy when you replaced it.
