How does the OT like their coffee? Keurig, or brewed in a coffee maker? If in a coffee maker, do you use pre ground coffee or do you grind your own beans?

My preference is whole beans freshly ground. After trying a Keurig and then going back to whole beans freshly ground, I found the fresh grind to be the best.

Fresh ground coffee is always superior because of the fact that it's fresh. If convenience is a factor, kuerig is my go to. Can't get fresh ground flavor out of a K cup though.

I use a 1 liter French press using either pre-ground Community Cafe or Tim Horton's medium. Bought a second French press to have one available while the other one is being cleaned.

This.
Go buy fresh roasted beans. Grind them yourself. French Press for the win:

Currently use a Keurig for convenience and because my brother doesn't drink coffee...only me. I'd like to get a grinder and french press, but am honestly too lazy. Got a drip pot for my new place because they're cheap and I like to just set, brew, forget when making morning coffee.

Nobody uses a Keurig because they think it makes the best coffee. People use it because it's convenient.

I buy coffee beans from a local roasting company at the farmers market and have them grind them for me. Then I make it in a french press.

I should probably grind the beans myself but I don't really feel like dealing with that at the moment.

I dont know if it's all models, but some Keurig machines have an adapter to allow ground coffee. So fresh ground coffee when wanting to do that, and convenience of popping a pod when rushing out of house during week.

All of the above?

On the weekend I fresh grind beans from a local roaster and use Chemex.

During the week if I need a quick cup I'll use the Keurig.

And I also get the local roaster to grind 12 oz once a week so I can make a big batch of cold brew.

Right

But the quality of coffee it produces is pretty poor

And I'm not judging. I own one. About to sell it or give it away. Makes terrible coffee.

It's pretty bad, but I've found a couple of guidelines to make better coffee with it, especially if you like strong coffee like I do.

1. I only use Dark Roast coffee, marketed as either bold or extra bold. Peets Major Dickason's Blend is an example of a Dark Roast, Bold coffee I use with my Keurig.

2. I always use the smallest setting, which I believe is 6 ounces. If I want more coffee, I make another cup.

I can get a pretty decent cup of coffee following those two steps.

SO other hates the Keurig because we have it set to 12oz and it never pours 12oz. Maybe 9 or 10 so now she refuses to use it. Instead we buy ground coffee and use that...

Thank you for telling me what you deem to be the 'correct' coffee to drink.

Keirig coffee is horrible. Honestly prefer Starbucks instant coffee.

If you're a true coffee fan then it might be worth dropping $800 or so on one of those fancy jura's. It sounds like a lot but if you drink coffee a ton (especially if you buy it at coffee shops) it will pay for itself.

As someone who likes to keep things easy but has gotten a little tired of the Keurig taste, what do you guys recommend. French press?
