Do you think it would be hard to get reservations at Clancy's or Manale's this Friday night because of the Essence Festival?

Yes, this is their busiest time of the year. Sales hit their peak during Essence.

I think it could be tough to get a reservation at Clancy's any Friday night this close, for anything remotely peak. Manale's less so. But shouldnt be a problem at either due to Essence. Essence since it is a night time event (as opposed to Jazz Fest which ends at 7 pm) doesnt typically cause dinner rushes at spots.

Probably both closed "for repairs" during Essence

No you should be fine, don't wait until the last minute.

Neither of these places are near the CBD/Quarter

BTW, Clancy's over Manale's by a long shot.

Manale's will be easier to get in to. I like it but Clancy's is a much better restaurant IMO. Both are off the beaten tourist path. I would call Clancy's first, then Brigtsten's then maybe Manale's.

Don't think the Essence crowd will visit either. Clancy's is probably already booked with locals.
