Interesting but is this really front page material?

Chef Sean Rivera parted ways with the restaurant located near the Perkins Road overpass. Rivera had been the executive chef for around eight months, and he says the split was amicable. His last day was Wednesday, Aug. 12.

“I enjoyed all the time I spent at City Pork Deli,” he said. “There are no hard feelings on either side. It was just time for me to focus on other ventures and my family.”

Rivera will now work on public relations and food consulting work. However, he did not rule out a return to the Baton Rouge restaurant scene.

Chefs leave for all sorts of reasons. The hours alone are enough to make someone stop cooking for a consultant job.

it seems like that place has a good bit of turnover. I think their food is just ok, nothing special

Amicable my arse.

It's a shame, because Sean really brought a lot to that location from where they were when he first got there.

There are personal details I can't get into. But suffice it to say that one of the owners pushed and pushed and demanded sacrifices that were too much of a burden on him and his family.

Not Sean, but he let me know yesterday. He actually said I should start a thread on TD about it.

Yea it's fine but doesn't nearly warrant all the lengthy threads about it.

Isn't that place just a sandwich shop? Doesn't seem like the cook leaving is that big of a deal.

What's the owner's side of the story?

This is not the first chef associated with the ownership group that has left under similar circumstances if what's been said about this most recent departure here is to be believed.

Seems like a pattern.

I agree twice in this thread, why is this front page worthy and is there really a need for an executive chef at a deli?
