Is there any place in Baton Rouge that does Chicago style pizza? Every now and then I want some and I can't for the life of me think of any place to get it.

NB4 "that's not real pizza", "Fleur de Lis is awesome", "Fleur de Lis sucks", "Johnny's"

A few months back, I was browsing through BJ's Brewhouse's menu and saw that they advertise a deep dish. I was so excited that Friday for lunch because even if it wasn't great, it was still going to be deep dish.

They're fricking liars over there. It wasn't deep dish. It was basically Pizza Hut pan pizza with that thick doughly crust and a regular amount of toppings.

I'm still bitter. frick that place.

I agree that it's not a true deep dish. It was good however. Similar to pizza Hut pan pizza is spot on.

Like in the frozen food section? I've never been in that place.

Can't say that I have seen a true Chicago style deep dish pizza at Costco. It may exist in the frozen section, never seen a fresh one there.

TigerstuckinMS you might want to think about making your own. It is not too hard if you have an oven and a cast iron skillet. I've done it before and it comes out better than I can find around here.

alexaders carries Ginos.... its frozen and takes 9hrs in the oven, bout as long as it takes to come out at the restaurant itself.
but its a deep dish.

on a side note... got the worse old fashion ever made at a Ginos in Chicago... made the waiter taste it and he spit it out and said i'll get you another

It blows my mind when people frick up basic drinks. It's got fewer ingredients than you have fingers on one hand, and you have one fricking job

I will look next time I am at Costco. I can see them selling deep dish pizza, but not Chicago Style deep dish pizza (cornmeal crust, cheese on bottom and sauce on top, 2" thick, etc.).

Most grocery stores sell Ginos or Pizzeria Uno now.

Don't believe I have seen a true Chicago style pizza in Baton Rouge but I haven't visited the place that sells Totino's pizzas in a long long time. They may have started baking the frozen Uno pizza by now.
